Overland Park Voice

Completing the Civic Dialogue.

Every resident shapes this city. Not every resident has a seat at the table. Yet.

What we're working on

These aren't abstract goals. They are specific, actionable campaigns happening right now.

Active Campaign

Housing Attainability

Overland Park is building fewer than half the housing units it needs annually. Since 2021, only one home has been built at the price point our workforce can afford. We're advocating for "missing middle" housing options and zoning reforms that actually serve the people who work here.

Active Campaign

Surveillance Oversight

The city is investing $22.4 million in a Real-Time Intelligence Center powered by Axon Fusus. With the FIFA World Cup bringing 650,000 visitors in 2026, we need governance before the system goes live. We're fighting for data sovereignty, a ban on facial recognition, and independent oversight.

How we approach this

We aren't here to shout slogans. We're here to do the work.

OP Voice operates collaboratively but not neutrally. We work with city officials and treat them as neighbors, but we advocate firmly for our constituency's interests, specifically the renters, service workers, and families who power our economy. We ground every position in evidence, research, and data, doing the homework that most working residents don't have time to do.

Most importantly, we're authentic. We communicate like people, not a PR firm. We'll tell you what we know, what we don't, and why it matters to your daily life.

Respecting your time

We know you're busy. You don't need to attend three-hour meetings to make a difference. Here is what you can do right now.
